Who would have thought I would get here sooner? Even I did not think we would be able to travel to Europe in just a year since we started traveling internationally!
I know others have done more amazing things but looking back to the times before I started my digital journey, I could barely travel locally. Working remotely has been such a life changer. Working with clients who are generous and supportive is truly a bonus!
Okay, so, basically, we applied for our tourist visa (self-funded) five months ahead of our intended travel date. This is because we wanted to be more prepared and save up a lot. I mean, a lot. All of our visa applications are purely DIY, I prepare them all and my husband just signs. He literally just signs, once I am done printing our papers LOL. But honestly, he is so supportive, he is just happy to be traveling with me as that's what matters most to him.
The visa application process took about 13 working days and I thought we were refused as I've read online that if your passport is returned with a paper in it, the paper is the refusal letter. In our case, I felt there was a paper together with our passport and I was so afraid of opening the mail (we had our passports delivered). To our surprise, the paper was our invoice and not a refusal paper like I initially thought haha. When we realized we got approved, we jumped so high and shouted really loud (sorry neighbors!).
Our travel happened last year, on my birth month because that's all I ever really wanted. To travel!
First stop: Germany

We had so much fun around Cologne. We visited castles and UNESCO-heritage sites. Went to a local market where we ate sausages, pretzel pizza, and tried hot wine (I was not a fan!).

Next stop is Switzerland
Oh, this was such a beautiful experience! I spent my birthday in Switzerland and it was truly epic!

Zermatt is understandably my most favorite location next to Grindelwald, Spiez, Montreux, Interlaken, Naters, and Brig. I am pretty sure I missed some locations as we visited as many as we could using our Swiss Travel Pass.

Dined at the top of Matterhorn. It was an Italian restaurant as we were already very close to their border (via the mountains). This was on my birthday!
Third stop: Portugal

This was such a beautiful journey although we only stayed there for three days. I loved all the food we tried, especially the sea rice (photo above).
The fourth stop is Spain (of course this is a must!)

We stayed in Barcelona and had so much fun! It's one of those places you would seriously think about relocating HAHA. We met up with a friend who was already a local there and she showed us around. The food, the culture, the vibes were all FANTASTIC! I especially learned a lot of history from our friend who accompanied us.
Yes, my husband loves football. I bought him a coffee mug and caps from his favorite teams. My baby was overjoyed!
Final stop: Back to Switzerland
We spent the last four days of our 16-day tourist visa in Switzerland. It was also where we flew out.

Our Europe trip was overall EPIC. I cannot think of a better trip! I dream of it often these days and we do plan on coming back and hopefully, very soon.
