Cherry blossoms in South Korea and Japan

Cherry blossom season, or sakura season, is one of South Korea and Japan's most magical times of the year. So why not start 2024 with that travel bucket list to South Korea and Japan?

We attended the famous cherry blossom festival in Jinhae, South Korea. We hopped at cafes around the country but stayed mostly in Busan. Most afternoons, we would watch the magical sunset by the beach, as our accommodation is literally just a few minutes from the famous Haeundae beach.

We were a little early for the cherry blooms in South Korea, but some of their beautiful public parks had early spring blooms, so we took photos of the cherry blossom trees that bloomed early. It was so beautiful!

When it was time to fly to Japan, we were super excited, as it was our first time! Japan has been in my top five list to visit since I started traveling internationally in September 2022. My husband was really looking forward to eating ramen all the time! This goal was easily achieved because there are at least three ramen shops in every block. We ordered through their vending machines; it was so cool! We have also achieved our goal of eating their famous Wagyu (we chose the all-you-can-eat because why not?) and their very popular pork tonkatsu, which was worth the one-hour wait time!

I am sharing some photos below of the many highlights of our trip: crossing the busiest Shibuya crossing, seeing Hachiko, going up to the Shibuya, and, last but not least, our trip to see Mt. Fuji. I couldn't believe that Mt. Fuji showed itself when we visited Kawaguchiko. Of course, we commuted using their public transportation, and we had a lot of fun there.
